From stuck to unstoppable Going Beyond a Round Tuit book cover — butter yellow with stick-figure illustration of a person checking off Dreams and Goals

Most of us already have the round tuit. What we don't have is permission to start.

I wrote Going Beyond a Round Tuit because I kept meeting honest people who felt stuck — not lazy, not unmotivated, not failing — just stuck. They had goals. They had reasons. They had the tools sitting on the shelf. What they needed was someone to walk the path with them, one honest step at a time.

This book is that walk. It's part field guide, part letter from a friend, part eight-step process you can actually keep up with. It doesn't promise miracles. It promises that you don't have to go it alone.

Buying the book directly through Doc Pratt Ministries supports the work — every dollar goes back into scholarships, classes, and the future of Doc's Place.

What's inside

The eight steps

The book is built around the eight steps, with each step anchored in its own chapter and a few additional chapters that frame and weave them together. You can read straight through, or stop and stay with one chapter as long as you need. The pacing is built to be honest, not heroic.

  1. Step one

    Begin Within

Self-awareness as the foundation. Before you can move forward, you have to know where you are.

  2. Step two

    Solid Footing

One step at a time. Building a base you can actually stand on, instead of leaping for outcomes you can't sustain.

  3. Step three

    Hindrances

The invisible forces — old beliefs, tired patterns, hidden fears — that quietly slow every step.

  4. Step four

    Distractions

The attention hijackers. Naming what pulls you off the path so you can return to it sooner each time.

  5. Step five

    Weeds

Relationships and influences that choke growth — and how to tend the soil without scorching the field.

  6. Step six

    Stones That Trip Us Up

The recurring obstacles you keep stubbing your toe on. Knowing where they are is half the work.

  7. Step seven

Habits & Rhythms for the Long Game

Planting and sustaining. The quiet, repeatable practices that make change last after motivation fades.

  8. Step eight

    The Power of Community

You were never meant to walk this alone. Building the support network that carries the work forward.

  9. From Stuck to Unstoppable

Where the path leads — your life that matters, lived honestly, in the company of people who see you.

Who it's for

If any of these sound like you

  • You've been "going to" do the thing for a long time now.
  • You've read the books, listened to the podcasts, and still feel stuck.
  • You're done with hype. You want a path, not a pep talk.
  • You suspect the work is more about you than about another system.
  • You want a companion, not a coach yelling from the sidelines.
  • You'd like to do this in community — and you'll settle for doing it honestly alone first.
Who it isn't for

This book won't help if

  • You're hoping for a five-step shortcut to skip the hard parts.
  • You want someone else to do the noticing for you.
  • You need a clinical treatment plan — this is a companion, not a substitute for therapy.
  • You'd rather stay where you are. (Which is okay too. The path waits.)
